We arrived safely in China.
At the end of the flight, music started playing and the flight attendants did a little signing in the aisle. This video is just a snippet of what they did for us.
We are staying at a hotel that is about a ten minute bus ride from the school we are teaching at. The students that are from Hong Kong are staying at the hotel with us. Along with teaching the students, the school has planned many activities for us. On Sunday we went into the mountains (about 2 hours away) to visit the Miao people group. What an amazing experience. They did their traditional custom welcome to us which was a 3 hour program. We also got to visit their homes and see the life style they lead. After touring their homes they prepared a huge feast for us. In total there was close to 400 people eating at this meal. Yesterday (Monday) we planted trees at the school to commemorate our visit here and then we did a group project of drawing pictures. It was really a lot of fun, and good chances to build relationships with both the Hong Kong and China students.
In our morning classes the Hong Kong students have been such a blessing to us, because the Chinese students' English is very poor. The Hong Kong students are able to translate some of the English for us.
We have one more day of teaching and then on Thursday (America's Wednesday night) we fly back to Hong Kong. Friday will be our day of debriefing and then we head home on Saturday.
